How to Deactivate or Delete Your Facebook Account in Android iPhone & Computer

How to Deactivate Your Facebook Account

Feeling overwhelmed by newsfeeds or wanting a break from social media? Deactivating your Facebook account can be a great way to take a step back and regain control of your online presence.

This guide will walk you through the process of deactivating your Facebook account, whether you're using a web browser on your computer or the Facebook app on your phone.

Important Note: Deactivating your account is temporary. Your profile, friends list, and messages will all be hidden, but they won't be permanently deleted. You can reactivate your account at any time by logging back in with your Facebook email and password.

Here's what you'll need:

·        (i) Your Facebook login email address

·           (ii) Your Facebook password

Deactivating Facebook on Your Computer:

   (i) Head to Facebook.com and log in to your account.

(ii) Click the downward arrow in the top right corner of the screen.

(iii) Select Settings & Privacy from the dropdown menu.

   (iv) Click on Settings.

   (v) Under Your Facebook Information, click on Deactivation and Deletion.

   (vi) Choose Deactivate Account.

(vii) Select a reason for deactivating (optional) and click Continue to Account Deactivation.

(viii) Review the information about what will be deactivated and then click Deactivate Now.

(ix) Enter your Facebook password and click Continue.

Deactivating Facebook on Your Phone (Android or iPhone):

   (i) Open the Facebook app and log in to your account.

(ii) Tap on the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the bottom right corner (Android) or top right corner (iPhone).

(iii) Scroll down and tap Settings & Privacy.

  (iv) Select Settings.

  (v) Tap on Account Ownership and Control.

 (vi) Choose Deactivation and Deletion.

(vii) Select Deactivate account and then tap Continue to Account Deactivation.

(viii) Choose a reason for deactivation (optional) and tap Next.

(ix) Tap Deactivate Now.

(x) Enter your Facebook password and tap Deactivate.

Congratulations! Your Facebook account has now been deactivated.

Additional Tips:

Before you deactivate, consider downloading a copy of your Facebook information. This includes your photos, videos, posts, and messages.

If you're looking for a more permanent solution, you can also delete your Facebook account entirely. However, this is a much more involved process and cannot be undone.

We hope this guide has helped you with deactivating your Facebook account. Taking a break from social media can be a healthy way to reduce stress and improve your overall well-being.
